A post on how to make the most out of the last month of autumn, embracing the darkness and cold instead of letting it bring you down.

November/ Autumn LoveLast year I practically shared a love letter for the autumn season, having lived my first few months as a student in London in my new apartment with my boyfriend. It was the best season ever, with so many new experiences, places and faces, all while the sun was shining, leaves were falling and the temperature stayed warm. This year has been quite different; I moved out of the apartment I had moved in to just a year ago and I found myself having to stand on my own two feet. Even though I have had two good months of Autumn this year as well, they have at times been hectic, stressful and lonely. Therefore, I decided that now that I have finally moved and everything is settled and good, I will make this last month of Autumn my best ever. So here are some of my tips on how to make  the most out of this last month of Autumn:

I am all about always staying comfortable when it comes to my style, but as the colder months come along I think it is even more important. The temperature is dropping and the wind is blowing, so it is so important to dress for the weather to stay comfortable and warm. If you haven’t already, I recommend investing in a good big (blanket) scarf and a proper winter coat – keeping you both trendy and warm at the same time.

It might be a lit colder, you might have to add a few extra layers and even bring your umbrella and rain boots, but when you get walking outside it will all be worth it. Lately I have been visiting some local and central parks around London (Richmond Park, Green Park and Hampton Court) and every time I get even more amazed by the beauty that is surrounding me. I love parks all year round, but there is something special about the autumn. The leaves are crunchy and warmly coloured, the sunsets are filled with passion and love and everything seems to be so much more alive and passionate.

November can often be a stressful month with deadlines and exams coming closer, which is the exact reason why it is so important to remember to take some time off to relax. If you are feeling stressed out, overwhelmed or exhausted, put down your work and give yourself a break. Cuddle up with a good book (I just got two new books delivered at my door, yayy!), listen to some music, watch some youtube-videoes (my latest obsession) or pamper yourself with a good old home-spa. No matter what you do, make sure you let your mind and body fully relax and do not think about any of the things that is stressing you out while relaxing.

My favourite one, so much fun and so important! We are now in November, and I think we can all agree on how quickly the past few months have gone by, meaning that in the blink of an eye it will be December and Christmas. Therefore, I think it is important to start your christmas shopping now (if you haven’t already), so that you do not have to do it last minute in a month (no-one likes doing that right?). It will be a fun and good way to take a break from your work and get outside, while in your warm and comfortable clothes. Ey?

(And btw: if you are in the need if inspiration for Christmas gifts, do not worry – I will start sharing my Christmas gift posts soon!)
